E-Summit 2021

Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS) Rohini Sector-5 in collaboration with Institution’s Innovation Council organised annual E-Summit 2021 on 11th December 2021, Saturday at Laxmi Pat Singhania Auditorium, PHD House with an aim to bring on one platform members from academic community, venture capitalists, and new age entrepreneurs. The event witnessed thought-provoking sessions conducted by industrialists, funding agencies, seasoned entrepreneurs, and academicians participating with full vigour.
The E-summit strived to honour the start-up culture in India and promoted entrepreneurship as a preferred choice of career to the youth. The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Pooja Jain (Director, JIMS) she welcomed the shift in traditional mindset of seeking job opportunities after completion of formal education versus current ideology wherein students have mustered-up the courage to initiate career by setting up their own venture. The respected chief guest at the E-Summit 2021 was Dr. Neharika Vohra (Vice-Chancellor, Delhi Skills and Entrepreneurship University) who addressed the audience by imparting deeper insights of opting for entrepreneurship in the age of digital boom. In the introductory session our proud Alumnus, Mr. Anurag Srivastava, motivated young graduates to believe in the power of their creative ideas and pursue their dreams. Later, the Chairman and the Director of JIMS felicitated him for his phenomenal achievements that earned him a place in the list of Forbes 30 under 30.

The E-summit 2021 saw discussions based on three tracks namely Track -1 (Entrepreneurial Ecosystem), Track – 2 (From Eureka to Unicorns), and Track – 3 (Green Entrepreneurship).
In the 1st track, a panel discussion was held wherein Dr. Munish Jindal (CEO, HoverRobotix) served as the panel moderator and other eminent panellists who participated were Mr.Sam Baisla (CEO of Decodr Technologies, Brand Samosa), Mr. Sandeep Jain (founder of GeeksforGeeks) and Mr. Naveen Kumar (CEO of Payottam, Navshali Innovations). Students got an opportunity to understand the ecosystem surrounding the start-up culture in India. Moreover, the speakers shared inspiring stories and challenges in the way of becoming an entrepreneur. The major takeaway from the track 1 emphasized on building a strong, sustainable start-up ecosystem with a collaborative approach where each stakeholder assumes responsibility of the actions and results in the process of growth.

In track 2 the special guest of honor was Mr.Prashant Piti (CEO of EaseMyTrip.com, Founder and CEO of Profoundly and NearGroup.) and Dr. Nancy Juneja (CEO, RevUp and MentorX). EaseMyTrip is India’s latest entrant to the unicorn club with USD 1 Billion market cap. Mr.Prashant took the lead and ensured that the post-lunch session was equally interactive and vibrant as he re-defined the parameters of entrepreneurship by showcasing a fresh perspective involving tourism industry. It was interesting to note that start-ups should shift their focus from a pure valuation game to create solutions of real value for Indian masses. The key takeaway was “India as a progressive country should embrace more ventures that strengthens the infrastructure of the nation and creates positive impact on the people in the long-run.”

Last but not the least, track-3 of was focused on the discussions and deliberations around Green Entrepreneurship. The immense contribution of Mr. Virendra Sharma ( AIM- Mentor; NITI AAYOG, Govt. Of India & Co-founder @KUMPEL) , Mr. Arjun Singh ( Founder; Rath Foundation), Dr. Devjyoti Mohanty(CEO-AIC; Nalanda University) and Mr. Arun Kumar Sharma (CEO; Energy Efficient Environment Group) was quite enlightening for the listeners. Dr. Avijit Chakravarti (Faculty, JIMS) was the moderator of the panel discussion and he enabled speakers to bring out several shades of sustainability and profitability in the business of Green Entrepreneurship. The speakers highlighted that today’s society should constantly innovate and put emphasis on social causes because it is our collective obligation to payback to planet Earth for the survival of generations to come.

The E-summit 2021 proved to be an excellent platform of Knowledge Exchange where active engagement from the respected speakers and audience was seen as they gathered a new-fangled perspective. Each track was followed by a healthy Q&A round in which students got the opportunity to meet the Bigwigs and build connect with them.
